BlackRock is seeking a business leader to head its business management and product strategy efforts for the platform in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

This individual will be responsible for developing and executing upon a comprehensive business plan for BlackRock Systematic in APAC in collaboration with BSYS business and strategy leaders. The position will be particularly focused on aligning our business priorities with the channel and other BlackRock partners, coordinating the virtual resources of broader product strategy teams in the region and providing a point of leverage and expertise for the full BSYS platform.

The successful candidate will work closely with the BSYS product strategy and channel teams to identify product gaps and design solutions to target new opportunities for growth. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Strategy for BlackRock Systematic, the role requires strong organizational, communications and analytical skills, a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and the ability to navigate a complex matrix of stakeholders throughout the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute a strategic multi-year plan for BSYS in APAC including client segmentation, product development, internal alignment and external marketing. Evangelize BSYS capabilities internally and externally to further increase brand recognition for the platform.
  • Align BSYS commercial objectives with industry trends, client preferences and channel priorities. Provide a connection point for stakeholders across BSYS to local partners in the channel and product management organization.
  • Bring together the virtual resources across BlackRock's product strategy groups in region, fostering connection, knowledge and enthusiasm in support of BSYS objectives. Ensure effective collaboration and flow of information between local product strategists and offshore strategy teams.
  • Gather market intelligence on client trends, competitor developments and product landscape to inform the BSYS commercial and product development agenda. Uncover opportunities for growth and product gaps across the institutional and retail market. Guide the development of new products for APAC in partnership with investment and strategy leaders across the business. Achieve alignment with channel partners in product prioritization and resource commitments.
  • Provide generalist coverage of the full BSYS platform for APAC, developing subject matter expertise across the full range of BSYS capabilities. Lead client engagements and develop sales campaigns for capabilities of highest importance in the region. Partner with BSYS marketing and channel marketing teams to develop scaled marketing activity in support of commercial objectives.


Key Requirement/Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics or similar field. CFA designation and/or MBA a plus
  • 10-15 + years industry experience, including strong knowledge of the industry landscape; Work experience in the Asia Pacific region a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of systematic investing practices and understanding of capital markets across a broad range of asset classes
  • Exceptional organizational skills required for the oversight of complex set of responsibilities across a diverse platform; Strong communications a must for effective partnership communications across various internal and external channels
  • Passionate about investing, fundamentally curious and self-motivated; Work independently and proactively in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced team environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills required; Familiarity risk models and Aladdin a plus.
  • Mandarin language skills preferred
