Verus is in search of a Portfolio Manager to join our office in Seattle, WA, Pittsburgh, PA, San Francisco, CA, or Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will have two to five years of experience in portfolio management, manager research, external portfolio manager programs, and/or institutional consulting.

The Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for constructing and managing portfolios over which we have discretion, performing appropriate research and analysis on possible investment strategies for inclusion in portfolios. They will interact with the risk and research teams on a regular basis and function as part of the investment team on the strategic investment direction for the firm, translating agreed structure and tilts into portfolios. They will implement decisions reached, work alongside the operations team to ensure effective trading outcomes and interact with consultants and clients throughout the investment process to ensure client objectives and constraints are properly addressed. 

Portfolio Managers are expected to have a good understanding of asset allocation. They are in a unique position within the financial services business in that they bridge both consulting and investment management, offering expertise and scale to become an extension of staff to the clients that Verus serves in the capacity of OCIO.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • CFA, CAIA, and Master’s Degree desirable
