The opportunity

We are currently looking for an Insurance Senior Consultant to join our Actuarial and Risk Services team.

  • Be part of technical and strategical projects in insurance sector;
  • Support insurance institutions in their accounting, financial and control decisions and developments;
  • Contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely and effective responses to client needs and concerns;
  • Participate in client meetings and work within a team environment to deliver fully integrated benefit services to clients;
  • Take a practical approach to solving issues and gaining client agreement;
  • Encourage and facilitate collaboration amongst team members and promote an inclusive working environment.
     

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of key projects for our insurance clients;
  • Be part of the IFRS 17 implementation strategic projects;
  • Develop insurance audits;
  • Ensure the development of accounting and financial analyzes relating to the insurance business;
  • Planning and control of business indicators;
  • Reporting;
  • Contribute to improve operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, consistently driving projects to completion while ensuring the quality of the work delivered;
  • Keeping a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, and escalate issues as appropriate;
  • Working closely with colleagues, you will create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop;
  • You will contribute to the development of EY capabilities in technical areas and engage with clients regarding the application of these methodologies to their businesses.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's and master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or similar academic background;
  • 3 to 6 years of previous work experience in in accounting, financial or planning and control roles in insurance companies;
  • Excellent analytical, research and communication skills;
  • Ability to build team and client relationships and manage expectations;
  • Full English Proficiency.
     

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • An understanding of accounting insurance concepts and actively pursue increased actuarial and accounting knowledge;
  • Knowledge about Solvency II and IFRS 17;
  • Knowledge in programming languages will be valued (e.g. VBA, R and SQL).
