Position Description:

We are seeking a Pricing Operations Associate/Manager to join our PIMCO Pricing team. This team is part of the Data Operations group, which is primarily responsible for the day-to-day implementation of PIMCO's Pricing Policy. Our team oversees PIMCO's security valuation process of funds globally to ensure that proper security valuations are used daily NAV. We work closely with third-party vendors (fund accountants/administrators, custodians, auditors, and security pricing vendors) who provide services to the funds/trusts to ensure fair valuation methods are applied, and associated controls are in place.

In this role, you will work closely with our trading floor, Pricing Committees, and Board members, monitor significant events, and pricing vendor oversight.

This role may be based in Austin, TX or Newport Beach, CA.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Interact with the pricing vendors to price securities owned by PIMCO
  • Communicate daily inquiries to appropriate internal departments
  • Monitor and data mine the daily pricing for anomalies and potential issues
  • Perform deep dives on issues related to securities pricing and methodology
  • Issue price challenges
  • Interact with Portfolio Managers as an internal consultant
  • Interact with internal and external audit teams
  • Audit internal processes, identify and mitigate risks, and develop and enhance controls
  • Develop reports and presentations for PIMCO funds, the Boards, Legal, and Portfolio Management
  • Maintain current knowledge of domestic and foreign securities markets and monitor effects on funds, pricing, and valuation procedures
  • Manage various projects related to process improvements, procedures, and systems development


Position Requirements:

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in security valuation and mutual fund operations
  • Experience working with trading desk and portfolio managers
  • Market data knowledge from working with providers of financial data, such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Intex, and others
  • Experience working with business intelligence reporting tools and dashboards, such as PowerBI (preferred) or other platforms
  • Advanced Excel/VBA, SQL, Python, strongly preferred
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics
  • CPA or CFA designation
  • Experience with mutual fund governance and fund boards
  • Experience working with Business Analysis and Project Management
