Position Description:

The Fund Development team coordinates and oversees the fund event process, including the project and workflow management of fund launches, liquidations, and mergers. As a member of the Fund Development team, you will work cross-functionally, from the beginning of a transition event to the end, in areas from internal governance, fund legal documentation, account and vendor setup to funding. You will eventually own the fund event process, and your efforts will help ensure that fund transitions are successful and that risks are managed proactively. You will also work on continuous improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk, utilizing business intelligence, low code applications, and other technology tools.

This role may be based in Austin, TX, or Newport Beach, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in and eventually lead the "fund build" effort by working with product managers, approval committees, legal counsel, and fund service providers
  • Understand and advise on efficient jurisdictional domicile and regulatory regime for new fund products based on client/investment requirements
  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of restructuring products such as fund mergers, building new share classes, modifying product characteristics (e.g., changing investment guidelines), and liquidating funds
  • Assist in crafting product policy by researching/advising on implications of decisions, both in the funds' domiciles and cross-border
  • Research requests for information on the business, operational, and legal/regulatory issues relating to fund products
  • Improve and update tools and controls designed to support product development
  • Monitor and evaluate existing products
  • Other ad hoc projects as assigned


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business or Economics
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in fund administration, preferably in developing, launching, or coordinating pooled funds
  • Able to effectively engage with all levels of staff
  • Experience across geographical boundaries, including Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
  • Track record of automating business processes utilizing workflow automation, business intelligence, or other productivity tools
