About this role

BlackRock is one of the world's largest asset management firms, and a best-in-class provider of global investment management, risk management and advisory services to institutional, intermediary and individual investors around the world. BlackRock offers a range of solutions - including fundamental and quantitative active management approaches and indexing strategies crafted to gain broad exposure to capital markets in the world. Our clients can access our investment solutions through a variety of product structures.

The Aladdin Client Transformation Group owns the installation and deployment of the Aladdin product at all BlackRock Solutions clients. Aladdin implementations are high profile initiatives that require team members to engage in senior level meetings and play active roles in improving client organizations through Aladdin people, processes and technology. A typical Aladdin implementation is at least as much about processes and implementing change as it is about technology. We help clients achieve bold strategic objectives which range from streamlining operations to modernizing their overall investment process. BlackRock's implementation model is differentiated because we take full ownership for our clients' launching on our solution. This approach enables us to develop a true partnership with our clients that continues to grow post implementation handoff.

BlackRock Solutions is growing its Accounting business and is currently onboarding several clients. We are looking for a candidate to work as part of our quickly expanding team to coordinate and be responsible for the various project tasks to ensure the implementation is successful. This includes effectively running the project plan, delivering key achievements and crafting project reporting. During the implementation the candidate will gain a full understanding of the client business needs and design the desired accounting workflow using Aladdin functionality. Does this sound like an exciting opportunity for you?

Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Lead Aladdin Accounting implementations for clients
  • Coordinate and assist in the Aladdin Accounting configuration, testing, and user training
  • Identify technology and process improvements to make the implementation approach more efficient with each new implementation
  • Develop a positive relationship with clients to support implementation and adoption. Collaborate with the Client's senior management and key user groups (e.g. Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Lead Accountants...)
  • Craft the evolution of Aladdin Accounting by developing a deep understanding of client and industry needs and conveying client requirements and feedback to the product team
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of Aladdin functionality and workflows, as well as industry-specific expertise (e.g., pensions, insurers, asset managers)
  • Sell the Aladdin Accounting product suite by assisting in demonstrations and implementation pre-planning activities
  • Ensure a smooth transition from implementation to ongoing client support teams

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years work experience in the financial services or accounting industry. Familiarity with buy-side investment management process a plus
  • Outstanding academic achievement, CPA or CFA a plus
  • Extensive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey sophisticated concepts simply and clearly to clients
  • Well organized and able to lead multiple priorities with a hands on approach
  • Experience in implementing accounting management systems at external clients
  • Experience in investment accounting or investment operations
  • Familiarity with capital markets instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives)
  • Creative, analytical, and strong digital literacy with an entrepreneurial approach to large, multifaceted projects (SQL experience a plus)
  • Potential to travel 2-3 days per week, including international opportunities

Our benefits

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
