Position Overview:

Seeking a hardworking, self-motivated, "team player" who is considering or in process of seeking their Chartered Financial Analyst designation (a level I or II person). Ideally the person has 1- 3 years’ experience, preferably in private wealth management. The role includes, but is not limited to, working collaboratively and closely with other team members, (primarily with the team's CFA) in monitoring, managing the team’s discretionary fee-based portfolios; seeing to client customized investment & reporting requests including, preparing reviews, client portfolio & position analysis, client balance sheet preparation, investment implementation recommendations, Monte Carlo modeling, account structure optimization and monitoring, adherence with investment models, annual review report documentation etc.. The position will require bridging between the investment management part of the business and the broader client wealth management/service element of the business.

Description of the Team:

We are a boutique, Barron’s and Forbes-Shook ranked Private Wealth Management team within Merrill Private Wealth at BofA (Merrill Lynch). We work with a limited number of high-net-worth clients. “White-glove” service, client focus and an attention to detail are required. A collaborative and open attitude; team chemistry is very important.

Job Activities:

·     Assisting in managing the team’s discretionary model portfolios.

·     Portfolio tracking, implementation and running analytics, including performance analysis and risk assessment.

·     Fluidity in Excel, Bloomberg and PowerPoint required. The individual will utilize our Excel and Bloomberg spreadsheets to monitor, track and measure portfolios and economic indicators. The individual will utilize MorningStar and Blackrock analytic tools.

·     Assist in surfacing, interviewing, and monitoring managers as well as ETF alternatives.

·     Listen to the firm’s morning calls, CIO calls outside manager calls and stay abreast of research and economic conditions.

·     Administrative aspects of the job include client annual reviews & implementation follow-up, custom report preparation, portfolio adherence, client house-holding i.e organization and monitoring of estate and investment entities into proper groups for reporting and asset allocation and investment implementation and monitoring.

·     The individual will assist in managing the team’s investment folder, organizing and running the team’s investment meeting, maintain manager notes and interface with the firm on compliance issues as needed.

·     Ability to interact well with other team members and take accountability for work being produced. Integration of such work with the activity of other team members. Stay calm.

·     Ability to pivot, and prioritize, think independently, and problem solve - given client requests, market conditions, and team process is critical. The ability to assist the team as necessary with administrative tasks from time to time is important; we are running a boutique private wealth business.

·     High organizational skills, as well as an open-mindedness, desire to learn, and be part of the team -within a context of “clients come first” is a must.

·     Fluidity and attention to detail in preparing presentations & emails so they are easy to follow, well organized and actionable (introduce what you are going to tell them, tell them, summarize what you told them and what they should do).

Series 7, and 66 are preferred, but not mandatory to be hired. They must be obtained, and will be required, in due course.

Looking for a three-year commitment, minimally, with the potential to grow into an essential long-term team member if a good fit.
