Job Summary

 

 

 

The Alternatives Data Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Hedge Fund Manager Research Team.

 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Participate in the manager research process, including the initial discovery of new managers, as well as the regular review and monitoring of existing managers Build and maintain databases as well as quantitative tools to aid in the research process with respect to identifying hedge fund managers for potential client investment Aggregate monthly performance and market exposure data across a broad universe of hedge fund managers and strategy types Manage the regular collection of relevant manager materials, including pitch books, quarterly letters, and fact sheets, to ensure manager data is consistently tracked Work with the Hedge Fund Team to process client deliverables related to the investment manager selection process Support the Hedge Fund Team with the preparation of quarterly investment performance and exposure reports Participate in hedge fund manager due diligence meetings and draft comprehensive notes for consistent product tracking Work with the hedge fund team to develop ways to enhance RVK’s existing process Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in the financial services industry Strong analytical mindset, including familiarity with regression analysis, probability theory, and other statistical concepts Persistent intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to solve complex problems independently Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to succeed in a deadline driven environment with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint An interest in financial markets and an eagerness to build expertise in investment management  

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

One (1) to Four (4) years of experience in the financial services industry Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited university Prior experience analyzing historical track records of asset management firms using modern portfolio statistics (alpha, beta, tracking error, etc.) and familiarity with attribution analysis Strong foundation of knowledge in financial markets, including a basic understanding of stocks, bonds, commodities, futures, swaps, and other derivative instruments Familiarity with hedge fund strategies and their potential roles in institutional portfolios Progress toward the CAIA or CFA designation
