Job Summary

The core mission of Investor Relations is to design and communicate the company's investment case and value proposition message to the financial community. Activities include the use of varied investor relations tools to permit clear and consistent communication of Kennametal industry fundamentals, global market position, business strategy and progress to its target audiences. Audiences are both internal and external, and analysis of potential points of differentiation from our competition is key.

The Manager, Investor Relations is instrumental in the design and execution of the company's messaging to the investment community.

 

This position can be remote within the US, but will require regular travel to Pittsburgh

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation of clear and consistent communication of Kennametal’s industry fundamentals, market position, business strategy and financial and operational performance through the use of varied investor relations public disclosure materials
  • Support the design and execution of institutional shareholder target outreach: targeting analysis, crafting investor days, roadshows, conferences, and investor/analyst meetings and calls, track and report on results
  • Analyze financial and operational data for the company, competitors and other key market players.
  • Review valuation models and analyze valuation trends for the company, peers and industry
  • Provide strategic insights and gather market intelligence to assist senior leadership in understanding relative performance and positioning
  • Assists in the creation of publications, script writing, discussion materials, presentations and press releases
  • In partnership with Communications and Legal Departments, collaborate and align messaging around major business developments, earnings, and key corporate developments
  • Interact with individuals at all levels within the company and with others outside of Kennametal, including investors and analysts
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics from an accredited institution required
  • CFA Strongly preferred
  • MBA or MS Finance preferred
  • IRC certificate preferred
  • 3-5 Years Relevant Work Experience
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving and quantitative skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, valuation methods, and capital markets, as well as the analytical skills required to create financial models and evaluate sell-side models
  • Excellent excel, word and powerpoint skills required
  • Strong communication skills, including messaging strategy and execution, business presentations, Q&A and business writing
  • Understanding of Kennametal's financials, structure, end-markets and strategy
  • Ability to handle confidential information and to strictly adhere to company policies for information disclosure
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and ability to organize priorities
  • Ability to simply and compellingly relate a company’s story to stakeholders, reaching audiences across a broad spectrum
  • Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal, team and collaboration skills
  • Ability to function strategically, developing and driving plans, as well as tactically implementing them
