As a Barclays WCS Leveraged Finance Analyst you will use delegated discretion to approve the granting of credit approval in accordance with Bank Policy. You will also ensure continue growth of the business without incurring unmanageable risks. You will stay current with financial analysis and risk profile as well as alert senior management of negative developments and trends within assigned sectors.

What will you be doing?

• Maintaining integrity of credit risk function whilst ensuring that the team continues to fully support Front Office relationship and sales staff
• Preparing credit papers for new transactions, annual reviews, and quarterly reviews/Watchlist reports for submission for approval through relevant discretion processes
• Presenting credits at relevant Credit Committees. Assisting senior team members in the preparation of Global/Regional Industry reviews
• Ensuring that the approvals are within the defined Limits and Mandate and Scale set for the Sector
• Acting as a point of contact within the Sector for the various Sales, IBD, Coverage, Product, Portfolio Management, Multi-National Corporate Banking teams
• Liaising with support functions across IB/WM and Corporate where appropriate for Legal; Compliance; Operations; etc. in support of approval and managing the credit risk of clients

What we're looking for:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics preferred
• 1-2 years' experience in credit risk or relevant experience, preferably gained at a major institution, covering both Investment Grade and Leveraged and/or Sub-Investment Grade clients
• Good understanding of corporate finance and banking products, strong product and industry knowledge
• Independent problem solving skills

Skills that will help you in the role:
• An MBA, CPA, or CFA and Formal Credit training preferred. Knowledge of Loan, High Yield and derivatives documentation
• Possess strong analytical skills with attention to detail, ability to provide big picture decision making, and ability to mentor junior staff
• Possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and ideas
• Possess a high degree of self-motivation, the ability to drive for results, and track record of setting and achieving goals and meeting schedules

Where will you be working?
You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
