Position Description:

PIMCO is continuing to build out the Trade Floor Product Management Team which is a centralized group that will coordinate across our Portfolio Management stakeholders and drive project execution across the order management and execution trade floor technology stack. This team will act as Project Managers & Product Owners of these technologies to implement key programs and ensure a consistent, integrated users experience across the entire trade lifecycle. As part of this team you will help manage the execution of large technology initiatives that drive efficiency, automation, and new capabilities to the trade floor. We are seeking a Business Analyst with a desire to progress to Project Management that will liaison with senior executive Portfolio Management stakeholders to understand, plan, and drive the prioritization, design, and execution of their technology needs. Individuals in front or middle office roles with an interest in moving into a technology function are also desired. This will be a multi-faceted role where responsibilities will include communicating to senior leaders, managing projects and priorities, understanding requirements, providing guidance to engineering teams on implementation direction and owning the user experience by interacting with the suite of applications.

Responsibilities
  • Understand PIMCO's trade floor technology vision and drive projects to reach this vision
  • Be able to go beyond the immediate technology task and have an understanding of the entire trade floor business workflow
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities by effectively planning and carrying out critical initiatives
  • Act as liaison to the business community and developers to prioritize key technology capability needs
  • Effectively communicate progress and timelines to business users even during times of changing/evolving requirements
  • Facilitate effective small and large business user sessions (e.g. capability design, prioritization, process improvements)
  • Participate in detailed analysis meetings with other business analysts, technology support groups, developers, and technology managers to help deliver scalable and re-usable solutions
  • Participate in the design, testing, and launch of new applications with a focus on a consistent & efficient UX
  • Assist in the promotion and adoption of new technology solutions
  • Be flexible and play multiple roles as required by projects wherever required including testing applications and running training sessions


Position Requirements:

  • Five to ten overall years of technology/systems integration experience or significant front or middle office experience
  • Minimum of three recent years working on design and systems implementation for trade floor related projects
  • Solid project management, organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong systems implementation methodology background
  • Strong knowledge of reporting metrics for investment portfolios
  • Strong data analysis skills using Excel
  • Knowledge of quick prototype tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent initiative: anticipate and avoid/resolve problems; proactively assess areas for improvement; recommend solutions and follow through to implement them
  • SQL experience or previous development experience a plus
  • Thorough and detail oriented; take ownership for complete follow-through of work
  • Able to learn new business areas and systems quickly
  • Flexible teammate who cooperates with others and adapts easily to changing priorities
  • Solid working understanding of Microsoft Office software
  • Bachelor's degree from a reputable university
  • Interest in a great technology project management experience with an exceptional firm


Preferred but not required
  • MBA or CFA designation
  • Some prior hands on development experience is a plus, does not need to be recent
