Team: OTC Derivatives Valuations is a specialized team within Global Operation and Technology Division of Bank of New York Mellon focused on providing pricing and analytics related to Valuation of Over The Counter (OTC) Derivatives to our clients. Our clients include Mutual Funds, Institutional Investors, Pension Funds, Hedge Funds, ETFs and other Financial Institutions seeking complex OTC Derivatives to manage the financial risks. We operate from Singapore, India, Poland, Ireland and the United States. The US team is 15+ members (and growing) and supports domestic and international institutional clients. In the US, the team operates from New York, NY and Orlando, FL. Our team is primarily responsible for:
  • Execution of daily pricing, review and analysis tasks related to valuation of OTC Derivatives across Rates, FX, Credit, Equities and Commodities asset classes
  • Providing analytics and explanation of price movements for OTC derivatives using data and analytics
  • Facilitating onboarding of new clients and servicing existing clients
  • Having a deep understanding of the market inputs required for and technical aspects of the valuation of OTC Derivatives
  • Identification, ownership, and execution of strategic projects related to pricing and valuation of OTC Derivatives
  • Provide valuation expertise and oversight for matters relating to OTC Derivatives to internal and external stakeholders

Role: As a VP within the OTC Derivatives Valuations Team (in NYC, New York),you will Manage a large team of data management and/or quantitative analysis professionals who prepare data sets and conduct statistical, financial and econometric modeling for internal or external clients. You will be leading a team of quantitative analysts and will be reporting to the Head of US OTC Valuations. Your primary responsibilities will include supervision of daily production of OTC Derivatives Valuations, managing internal stakeholders and clients, onboarding of new clients and businesses, vendor management, managing pricing and valuation queries and escalations and representing the OTC Valuation team in front of clients and internal stakeholders. You will oversee monitoring of KRIs and KPIs for the business line, management reporting, adherence to SLAs, identification and mitigation of control gaps, implementation of data related technology changes to the core valuation system, documentation of controls and development of analytics for improving valuation process. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, training and mentorship of the team.

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 5-7 years of total work experience with at least 0-1 years in management preferred. Experience in financial services preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5 years of experience managing a team
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, self-start and execute in high-pressure environment
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft packages particularly Excel, Access and VBA
  • Master's degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics Or; CFA
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft packages particularly Access
  • Proficiency in programming using Python, Pandas and related libraries
