The Opportunity

Fund Analysis & Operations team is responsible for the oversight for fund accounting activity and accurate calculation of daily fund net asset valuations (NAVs)/unit prices for the Australian Vanguard funds.

Reporting to the Head of Global Fund Accounting and joining a broader team of Fund Accounting & Operations professionals, the Senior Oversight Associate will support the preparation and oversight of fund valuations.

What you will do
  • Performs fund accounting oversight of the outsourced providers, conducting checks and balances to reduce business financial risk. Ensures that the processes are performed within the prescribed tolerances and control framework.
  • Supports the management team with review of daily, weekly and monthly fund accounting deliverables identifying and resolving complex operational issues.
  • Prepares reporting for internal and external clients and maintains effective working relationships with them as well as business partners
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance to other team members to achieve highest levels of performance.
  • Adheres to various control standards to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for
  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Relevant post-graduate qualifications (CA/CPA/CFA/MBA) would be well regarded
  • Financial Industry experience, ideally gained within fund accounting operations and/or oversight. Experience within investment operations would also be well regarded
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent judgment and proven ability to analyse issues quickly and independently to take appropriate action under tight time constraints.
Specialisations that will make an impact
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Excel; ability to quickly learn new software systems
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Services industry, specifically investment management
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills, problem solving, analysis and proactiveness.
  • Experience with investment management, investment operations, mutual funds accounting/reporting, mutual funds tax management.
