BBVA is looking to hire Strategy and M&A Associates and Analysts, to join a very successful team and help with the execution of buy- and sell-side projects. There is an extremely steep learning curve, as the team analyzes and executes opportunities spanning all sectors of the financial industry as well as internationally, with entities at different stages of their growth trajectory. Additionally, the role offers a significant exposure to the top management of the group, requiring best-in-class deliverables and rewarding incomparable insights into the strategic moves of BBVA and hands-on contribution to high-impact projects that change the bank and create value for BBVA's shareholders.

About M&A:

Analysis and execution of acquisitions.
Divestments and joint ventures / partnerships that are of interest to the BBVA.
Group within its business field: banking, asset management and pension funds, insurance, payments, fintech companies, specialized financial institutions, etc.
Strategy: focus on ensuring that Group Strategic Plan is implemented through strategic reviews focused on aligning business and global areas strategies with Group Strategy.
Strategic planning: all key planning processes to follow Group Strategy principles (KPIs, Top Down, Asset Allocation, etc.)

Role Description:

Info gathering, market and industry research.
Analysis of financial statement.
Modelling and valuation of financial companies (DDM, market trading multiples, etc.).
Coordination of teams (both internal and external) carrying-out due diligence analysis on identified opportunities.
Elaboration of presentations and discussion materials about the identified investment opportunities and strategic conclusions for C-level executives of BBVA Group.


Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration, Economics or other degrees with background in Finance. MBA, CFA or Post grad preferred.
Experience: For the analyst position; experience is not required. For the associate role, 2-3 years in areas which require investment and/or financial analysis skills (Audit, Corporate Finance / M&A, Equity Research, Asset Management, and ALM).
Understanding of the overall M&A process and materials.
Financial modelling and valuation experience.
High fluency in English (both oral and written). Minimum C1 is required.
Travel required.
