As a Barclays Analyst, you will be supporting the effective valuation control function in valuation oversight of the APAC Macro business to ensure compliance with valuation control policies and standards. This will include performing regular independent price verification, providing oversight of provision and reserve methodologies and regular measurement and reporting of Regulatory Prudent Valuations.

As a Barclays Analyst, you will be supporting the effective valuation control function in valuation oversight of the APAC Macro business to ensure compliance with valuation control policies and standards. What will you be doing?
- Gain an extensive knowledge and understanding of the Price Testing, Fair Value Adjustment & Market Data Uncertainty calculation methodologies
- Provide valuations challenge, reporting and ad-hoc investigations, covering the full spectrum of products in these business lines
- Provide management information and reporting for regional valuation controls and coordinate updates with the wider team
- Apply technical skills and knowledge of products and markets in performing the role and be in a position to advance and improve existing processes and methodologies
- Collaborate closely with the Chennai, Singapore, Hong Kong and London PC-Valuations teams and other control functions such as Risk and PC-Line
- Proactively communicate insights, observations and escalations regarding valuation control environment for APAC Macro business to PC-Valuations
- Address questions or requests from Internal Auditor and Risk & Controls team as required, supporting the monthly Price Testing and reporting for Macro business
- Maintenance of the general Control governance and documentation surrounding these businesses
- Self-motivated, hardworking, professional team player with good time management skills and can-do attitude
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with an ability to adopt methodical approach to investigations and problem solving
- Ability to clearly present arguments; problem solving skills and flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing business
- Thorough approach to all work, balanced and distributed appropriately between technical analysis, production work, controls and documentation
- Experience and technical understanding of derivative products commonly traded in Macro business
- Degree in a numerical discipline preferred (such as MFE, Quant Finance)
- Professional qualification such as CFA, FRM, CQF is an advantag Python coding skills are preferred
