Investment Associate – Social Impact Investing

Are you comfortable in a small office and jumping into all aspects of supporting an individual family objectives? Then we may have the role for you!

You will be responsible for assisting the Director of Investments in all phases of the investment cycle including: sourcing, conducting due diligence, preparing closing documents and monitoring the portfolio of investments. This position will have a specific focus on social impact investing including supporting opportunity zones, real estate investments and small business.

Specific duties will include:

• Conducts market research to understand the landscape, industry trends and identify investment opportunities
• Provide initial investment review and screening of prospective investment opportunities for the fund and track the fund’s investment pipeline
• Participate in due diligence process for prospective investments, including conducting market, industry, strategy and operational, financial analyses
• Develop detailed financial models and investment analyses

• Provide ongoing monitoring of assets, including reviewing financial reports, impact metrics and engaging with organizational leadership to assess changes and progress
• Represent the fund internally and externally and partner with entrepreneurs, non-profit partners, financial institutions, and consultants on matters related to investments

• Participate in and lead special and recurring projects and report results to senior management

Qualified candidates will have experience in an investment area including private equity/venture capital transactions, portfolio management ad real estate. An MBA is expected, but a bachelors with experience will be considered. We anticipate you have or are working toward your CFA.

Strong financial, analytical, and business skills both during evaluation of opportunities and ongoing management would be expected. You must confidently communicate effectively with internal teams, owners, and stakeholders.

Candidates must be able to travel independently throughout the Chicago Metropolitan area and travel in the United States on occasion.

This position will require work in our Highland Park IL office on a regular basis post covid-19.  Remote work allowed during Covid. Must be able to work in Highland Park at least 3 days per week when safe to do so.
