Position Description:

LOCATION: This position can be based in New York, NY or Miami, FL.
This position supports the Latin America wealth management client sales and servicing teams by providing business management & operational support. The position works in partnership with internal and external teams to deliver solutions. The individual will regularly interact with teams throughout PIMCO globally to be well-informed of industry projects, regulation changes, documentation requirements, operational activities and fund administration. Furthermore, the individual that carries out the role will be required to maintain existing controls and procedures associated with the support of the PIMCO funds business in LatAm as well as evaluate and develop improved workflows that will enhance and eliminate any operational risk.

  • Build strong relationships with operations support teams and other business partners located throughout PIMCO's global offices
  • Interact and liaise with third-party intermediaries (operations teams) for fund setup and maintenance
  • Knowledge of various mutual fund and hedged fund structures in LatAm, as well as European regulatory framework for UCITs funds
  • Respond to inquiries regarding shareholder transactions from various internal and external groups
  • Participates actively as a subject matter expert or project manager in:
o Support various aspects of the business including shareholders services related client inquiries, fund legal and compliance requirements, and State Street (transfer agent) related projects and client inquiries.
o Assist with on-boarding new local PIMCO (feeder) funds or other fund transitions
Training sessions provided to other departments / internal clients
o Partnering with technology to automate business processes
o Assist with various projects related to process improvements, procedures and systems development
o Create reports for LatAm Leadership, Legal, and Account Management team, including daily, weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Contributes to the quality of team processes and business acumen:
o Identifying and discussing any perceived gap(s) in operations/business processes
o Recommending improvements relative to risk and/or efficiencies
o Monitoring and updating internal procedures and identifying areas for documentation improvement
o Staying informed on industry developments and actively demonstrating curiosity and initiative to learn
o Contributing to building repeatable, consistent processes to reduce risk and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned and maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time


Position Requirements:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, proficiency in Portuguese is a plus
  • A four-year university degree in finance, accounting, engineering or economics preferred
  • 1-3 years of investment management or wealth management related business experience
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated communication ability and able to explain complex situations
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task on competing priorities
  • Have a client service mindset and exhibit a strong sense of urgency when responding to internal and external requests
  • Ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, problem solver, detail oriented and team player
