Corporate Development ("Corp Dev") is a centralized, global function within BNY Mellon's Finance organization.

Corp Dev works with all BNY Mellon's lines of business and corporate function specialists to evaluate, structure and execute potential acquisition, divestiture, joint venture and minority equity investment transactions.

Corp Dev is currently recruiting for a Senior Analyst or Associate to join our team. While many of our colleagues are working remotely at this time due to the pandemic, this role is to be based out of our New York Headquarters building located at 240 Greenwich Street - which is situated close to the World Trade Center.

The successful candidate for this role would become a direct report to the Head of Corporate Development while working with all members of the Corp Dev team.

Job overview :
Assignments that someone in this role would undertake include a broad range of activities, including potential M&A and/or investment transactions across the range of BNY Mellon businesses. Core activities of this role include analysis and valuation related to potential transactions, participation in due diligence, managing internal teams to review transactions and facilitation of Corp Dev recurring team activities (such as supporting development of monthly Corp Dev presentations to BNY Mellon's CEO and Executive Committee members, maintenance/updating of transaction tracking reports, research on selected target names and topics of interest) and other ad hoc assignments.

Key responsibilities :
- Prepare analyses and valuations of potential transactions; including financial impacts and returns analysis

- Develop overview/presentation materials for senior management review

- Develop and maintain financial (excel) models and analyses

- Conduct industry segment and company/business specific research to assist in monitoring current events and major news relating to potential target companies, businesses and topics of interest

- Prepare summary profiles of target companies/businesses

- Evaluate company/business financials (i.e., income statements, balance sheets and other financial information) on selected target companies and businesses and minority investment portfolio companies

- Help manage the due diligence process (including managing data rooms, maintaining due diligence request lists, etc.)

- Help manage day to day interaction with various internal and external constituents

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (an MBA or CFA is a plus)

- 5-7 years total work experience preferred Prior work experience in financial services (typically 3 to 5 years), in particular involving financial analysis, investment banking or M&A related activities

- Knowledge of financial services industry and related products

- Experience working on or strong knowledge of financial modelling, including discounted cash flow and other valuation methodologies

- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills

- Strong communication skills (written and verbal - presentation skills)

- Solid organizational skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Ability to work independently/be a self-starter

- Ability to conduct research using a variety of sources (e.g., SEC filings, FactSet, Bloomberg, S&P Global)
