Within Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM), the Balance Sheet Advisory team, part of Capital Markets is currently looking for an Associate to join their team. The team advises on funding and capital solutions for bank and insurance clients. This includes corporate finance, strategic capital structure analysis, credit ratings assignments, subordinated capital origination and structuring, regulatory analysis, balance sheet management and funding optimisation.

What you'll be doing:

You'll be supporting the team in providing corporate finance advice for bank and insurance companies, incorporating balance sheet management and forecasting in addition to capital structuring. Key areas include funding and capital efficiency analysis and optimisation in relation to regulation, investors, ratings and profitability. Our goal is to generate, via content marketing, leads for the FI DCM business.

You'll do this by:

Managing internal stakeholders, including FI DCM and Syndicate within Capital Markets in addition to the relationship managers in order to achieve the best outcome for customers.

Delivering analysis and content to clients together with colleagues from Bond Financing, to help clients assess the impact of strategic transactions on their credit profiles, identify appropriate funding solutions and understanding impact of regulatory and rating changes for FI's situations and transactions.

About you:

You'll possess the following key capabilities and skills:
  • Experience within a Capital Markets function with bond financing experience would be preferable
  • Proven analytical experience, specifically at banks and insurance financial statementsand being able to analyse their financials.
  • Able to evidence strong technical knowledge
  • Details and analytically focussed within a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, power point and Bloomberg, financial modelling skills
  • CFA qualified is a plus
  • CISI certification is required (regulation / securities / derivatives), whilst not necessary for the role immediately you would need to work towards this
