Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Portfolio Manager for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 32278

Duties: Develop, present, and execute trading strategies for various financial instruments to achieve specific objectives for assigned fixed income portfolios. Conduct quantitative research, financial analytics, and financial modeling to develop short- and long-term financial forecasts and generate related strategies and trading recommendations. Assess portfolio risk, position weights, and products against client guidelines and benchmarks, and re-balance portfolios to model/target weights as necessary. Communicate with internal and external parties to provide portfolio summaries, analysis, recommendations, and other information. Prepare daily research notes and frequent market updates on news and trading levels, and support account managers by updating existing accounts based on market conditions, philosophy, process, and performance. Conduct CLO modelling, documentation, and trade processing.

Position Requirements:

Requirements: Must have at least a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field and one (1) year of experience in position offered or related position. Qualifying experience or coursework must include: strategizing portfolio/risk management and optimization, including generating investment strategies and trading recommendations with a macro-economic outlook for portfolios; developing and implementing pricing models for a variety of fixed income, options, futures, and derivative products using associated techniques such as binomial trees, bootstrapping, partial differential equations, Monte Carlo methods, prepayment modeling, stochastic processes, and factor models to price and trade fixed income products in sovereigns, supras, credit, interest rate swaps and bond futures; using stochastic calculus and volatility surface modeling to price volatility products in rates, FX, commodities and equity space; applying econometrics, including cross-sectional and panel regressions, instrumental variables, and generalized method of moments, and applying time series analysis, including ARIMA models, spectrum methods, Kalman filtering/smoothing, VAR methods, and model selection techniques; using optimization techniques in linear and nonlinear programming, mixed-integer programming, stochastic programming, and global and non-convex optimization to optimize portfolios to maximize risk-adjusted returns given client constraints; conducting credit modelling and fundamentals; applying probability theory and Bayesian and non-Bayesian inference methods, analysis of exponential families, sufficient statistics, and asymptotic to analyze and develop trading strategies in generalized probabilistic frameworks; and utilizing Bloomberg and advanced Excel to extract and analyze financial and economic data.
