Position Description:

Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Senior Developer for its Newport Beach, CA location. Job ID 32279

Duties: Develop and support back office integration between investment management entities. Configure and enhance automation of electronic communications of transactions, cashflows, positions and financial security master database. Automate the reconciliation of financial records between disparate systems and platforms. Troubleshoot issues arising from server failures, firewall rejects, access authentication, and software code deficiencies. Develop and support buy side trading system that trades fixed income, equity, and derivatives securities. Serve as subject matter expert on financial securities and pre-trade and post-trade processing workflows. Develop and support security-building processes of complex security structures including bond, mortgage, equity, options, futures, swaps. Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers and others to identify, test and implement strategies that can improve PIMCO's performance. Participate and lead all activities in the software development life cycle including architecture design, hands on coding, code reviews, quality assurance testing, change management, and production support. Conduct performance tuning to ensure low latency, automatic monitoring, and automatic correction of PIMCO proprietary software solutions. Utilize various software tools and package including FindBugs, JaCoCo, Eclipse Memory Analyzer, QuickBuild and other test suites to locate inefficiencies and devise solutions to minimize communication lags, build backup systems and self-correcting applications.

Position Requirements:

Requirements: Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences, or related field and one (1) year of experience in position offered or related position. Full term of required experience must include: designing, developing, and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; coding using Spring Framework, Spring Transactions, Spring IOC, and Spring MVC; working on Sybase and Oracle databases; working on Python scripts, shell scripts, codes and test walk through; developing and directing software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation; analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; storing, retrieving, and manipulating data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements; obtaining and evaluating information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration; and utilizing technical skills including: Java, C, SQL & PL/SQL, UML, XML, HTML, SQL Server 2000/2005, Oracle, DB2V8, MS-Access, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, DTD, XSL, LOG4J, JavaScript, Eclipse, Spring Source Suite, Rational Rose 2002, RAD7.0, Web Logic, WebSphere, Tomcat, CVS, Rational Clear Case, SVN, CASCM, Ubuntu, Windows 2000/2003/XP/7, Struts MVC, Spring MVC, EJB, Hibernate.
