Position Description:

This exciting position is part of PIMCO's Portfolio Management Trade Support group and is an excellent opportunity to learn and contribute to PIMCO's operational risk management while leading a small team of specialists.

The Derivatives Documentation Manager is primarily responsible for the review of non-electronic OTC derivative confirmations, and for managing the confirmation execution workflow. This position requires assertiveness, acute attention to detail, an aptitude for managing multiple, competing priorities with minimal oversight or direction. Additionally, this position requires agility in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will also be skilled at driving high level internal interactions with Portfolio Managers, Trade Assistants, PIMCO counterparties and State Street IMS, as well as leading and contributing to the development of a small team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and negotiate non-electronic ISDA Confirmations for a broad range of OTC Derivative products including Equity, Commodity, Foreign Exchange, Credit Derivative and Interest Rates.
  • Manage ISDA Confirmations through the review and approval workflow process.
  • Identify discrepancies, perform all necessary investigation, and directly negotiate and resolve disputes with Counterparties.
  • Perform daily and weekly reporting to senior Portfolio and Risk Management executives
  • Actively participate in Industry and Regulatory initiatives and developments impacting OTC Derivative documentation and reporting
  • Manage projects and directly contribute to the advancement of workflows, processes and risk management objectives.
  • Leading a small team (2-3 specialists).


Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in implementation of relevant industry initiatives and developments to ensure the team remains on the cutting edge of legal requirements and best practices.
  • Experience in project management and leading mandates that contribute to the advancement of risk management objectives of the firm.
  • Experience and skill in managing processes, and prioritizing multiple tasks within a high pace, high pressure environment, and possess an acute attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Effectively able to communicate with Counterparties, Portfolio Managers, Risk Management and Legal Departments.
  • Experience leading a small team or experience in a mentorship/supportive capacity.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in negotiation, issue resolution and escalation of ISDA Confirmation disputes.
  • Advanced understanding of ISDA Definitions and Paper confirmation templates.
  • No less than 5 years practical experience drafting and/or reviewing non-electronic ISDA Confirmations at a top tier investment bank or buy side institution.
