Job Description

This position will play a key role in the ALM, Interest Rate Risk, and Credit Risk positioning across all of Ameriprise's Owned Assets. This role will also have the opportunity to be involved in investment management, planning, and cross functional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of quarterly owned account interest rate risk and credit risk analytics. This includes monitoring of duration, cash flow, spread, default, etc.
  • Own and support various ALM / interest rate risk modeling efforts including product pricing initiatives and planning through collaboration with key business partners.
  • Produce, develop, and provide thought leadership for analytics and stress tests assessing the positioning of owned asset portfolios.
  • Provide analytics supporting strategic initiatives, day-to-day management activities, and the development of investment strategies as a subject matter expert for the owned account portfolios.
  • Prepare and summarize analyses for discussion within Treasury, key stakeholders within the organization, and management.
  • Build and maintain processes to improve speed, efficiency and reporting of key ALM and Credit Risk metrics.
  • Produce and ensure methods, procedures, and documentation comply with regulatory expectations and standards established by the model governance program
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal clients such as Corporate Actuarial, Treasury (Liquidity and Capital), LFO, and Product Development


Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years experience in investments, actuarial, or treasury.
  • Strong technical skills (Asset/Liability modeling software, excel, database management, programming).
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in finance, economics, math or related disciplines.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of Insurance, Annuity, and Banking products.
  • Previous experience in ALM / Market risk management .
  • Previous experience with fixed income assets and markets.
  • FSA or CFA designations
