Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Investment Analyst II to join our Wealth Management department. The Investment Analyst II will deliver a World Class Experience while being responsible for analysis, preparation, and distribution of investment portfolio performance packages for client, prospect, and internal purposes. Incumbent will conduct asset class and security level research and perform support work for monthly Investment Policy Committee meeting.  Portfolio trading and related model management are also part of routine responsibilities as is maintaining contact with research and software vendors.   Position requires professional demeanor for maintaining relationships with high net worth clients while demonstrating strong attention to detail and service standards.

Minimum Requirements, Activities & Responsibilities

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years to five years of similar or related experience in investment, accounting or financial services
  • Literacy in financial market, economic and securities concepts, and terminology
  • CFA or CFP candidate preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and distribute client portfolio performance packages         
  • Prepare Request-for-Proposal responses 
  • Assist with investment and economic research and analysis as directed 
  • Prepare documentation for monthly Investment Policy and Trust Administrative meetings
  • Execute trades and maintain model management system
  • Liaison with various securities brokers and research/software vendors                                                          
  • Fulfill general duties including portfolio trade execution, document imaging, compliance tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Must be flexible and willing to work in an interactive and dynamic team environment
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and client service skills
  • Strong knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities
  • Must be able to demonstrate highest levels of customer service and confidentiality with internal and external customers
  • Ability to lead by example in a team setting and work independently while performing duties
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance
  • Must be able to work effectively either independently or as part of a team
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to clients and colleagues
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
