Position Description:

PIMCO is seeking an Equity Trader with 3+ years of equity market experience to be based in the US. The ideal candidate would have exposure cash equities, futures, options and total return swaps. The candidate must be detail-oriented and able to work well on a cohesive high performing team. S/He will work with traders, portfolio managers, research analysts, and internal support teams on a wide array of investment strategies and assist in building scalable processes to increase desk efficiencies. S/He will also assist the Head of Trading with reporting and helping to manage desk projects.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a trader for equity related products such as cash equities, futures, options, swaps and OTC products
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure within a fast-paced environment and execute high volumes of trades in different regions and products simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail in every aspect of the trading and settlement process
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Equity middle office and operations experience is a plus
  • Must have the willingness to partner effectively with legal/compliance, middle/back office, pricing, confirms, and other support teams to avoid issues in operationally complex markets with stringent regulatory environments
  • Strong communication skills required to provide market updates and make presentations to senior stakeholders in Portfolio Management team
  • Flexible hours required for global trading coverage as activity permits
  • Must be able to improve/create more efficient desk processes
  • Excel, VBA, Python and other coding skills are a plus
  • Proven project management skills required to assist Head of Trading
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with a focus in finance, economics, mathematics or business
  • MBA degree and/or CFA designation a plus
