Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Finance is a key member of the executive team and plays an integral role in the overall financial operations and strategic planning of the organization. Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the finance function in order to enable Primacorp to achieve its goals and objectives, the Vice President, Finance will act as a trusted leader within the executive team and ensure strong financial reporting, capital & finance strategies, and information systems are in place. They will collaborate with and make recommendations to the senior management team and lead the development and implementation of initiatives and associated financial policies for the organization that are sustainable, innovative, and allow Primacorp to manage risk, leverage assets, and grow. The Vice President, Finance is a business-savvy and influential leader with a diverse business mindset in addition to possessing the requisite technical, commercial, and operational know-how to safeguard & optimize the organization’s assets.

Leading and mentoring a professional team, and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Finance ensures proper principals and reporting standards are followed while overseeing the financial activities of the organization including corporate finance, accounting, internal controls, treasury, tax, compliance, strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and business-minded senior finance leader who is accustomed to a dynamic and growing organization with operations across Canada and the US. Upbeat and optimistic, they will be recognized for their financial acumen, multi-tasking abilities and interpersonal skills, and bring a working style that fosters teamwork. The incumbent will have proven financial planning and acquisition experience, ideally within an entrepreneurial and/or regulated environment. They will be known and respected as an individual who leads by example and whose successes are derived from excellent general management skills including insightful visioning, careful planning, and skillful execution.

To be considered, candidates must be in possession of the CPA designation and must have had significant exposure to the following areas as a member of the senior executive team: finance, corporate accounting, treasury, business and project controls, monthly and annual reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risk management planning, and corporate development. Having had oversight of project accounting, cash management, and taxation will be considered an asset.
