Position Description:

We are seeking an Execution Trader to join our APAC Portfolio Management team, to be based in Singapore and to help support the build out of infrastructure and processes for Asian Traded Markets. This is an opportunity for someone to be involved in PIMCO's growing quant effort, as well as contributing to systematize and automate our trading more generally to increase efficiencies. This individual will build relationships with counterparts and should understand markets and execution of trades.

The ideal candidate is someone with a keen intellectual and strong quantitative skills, demonstrated through an ability to recognize inter-related market opportunities and develop strategies for capturing such opportunities to enhance portfolio returns.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution/Advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum 1 year in trader seat strongly preferred, at either the sell or buy side, ideally with experience in futures, with fluency across fixed income products (specifically cash and derivative instruments, and options)
  • Knowledge of Portfolio Management, including prior experience in futures, rates, currencies, equity indices and commodities required; experience across any of these an added plus
  • Understanding of macro-economics and the drivers of economic trends across the region
  • Familiarity in quant strategies preferred
  • Comprehension of the interplay between top-down and bottom-up investment drivers
  • Ability to work collaboratively and navigate a global organization
  • Ambitious and competitive with a strong work ethic
  • Experience in working with TCA and algos recommended
  • One who combines strength of convictions with low ego needs
  • Ability to remain calm and objective in the face of periods of excessive optimism or extreme pessimism in the capital markets
  • Unassailable ethics and integrity
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
