Job Title: Fixed Income Trader/Strategist
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Domestic Bond Trading
• Surveillance – Monitor the bond market and communicate factors that impact portfolio buy/sell decisions. This includes understanding economic fundamentals, supply and demand dynamics, seasonal events and technical factors that drive the market.
• Implementation - Analyze, propose and execute trades
• Monitoring – Maintain proper portfolio structure including stated issuer exposure and sector weightings as well as yield curve and duration positioning
• Support settlements and pricing functions
• Know account guidelines, monitor and manage holdings to remain compliant
2. Portfolio Strategy
• Analyze intra-sector relationships and contribute to strategy development
• Interact with sector strategists, traders and analysts
• Oversee implementation of portfolio construction for sub-strategy within the Low Duration account grouping
• Monitor portfolio adherence to strategy themes through all account cashflow activity
3. Client Retention and New Business
• Understand client objectives
• Participate in client meetings with Client Portfolio Managers
• Participate in New Business opportunities
• Support marketing effort through creation of market-related materials and client/prospect specific customization
