Portfolio Analyst/Associate to join its LA California-based Treasury & Business Management team. The successful candidate will be a part of the team that primarily focuses on asset allocation and liquidity management.  The candidate will have the opportunity to play an active role in the broader portfolio management including ALM, asset allocation, cash management, and portfolio optimization. (note - we have two roles that are very similar with 2 different firms - one is more junior with around 1 -2 years experience, This one needs more like 3-5).

Primary Responsibilities

• Work within the portfolio management team to perform pre-trade portfolio analysis and allocate trades on a day-to-day basis in the firm’s trade order management system

• Actively analyze, monitor and address portfolio related inquiries or compliance related issues

• Evaluate portfolio positioning and determine appropriate asset mix to rebalance portfolios on a periodical basis to help expediate the day-to-day allocation processes

• Build a solid understanding of how proprietary asset optimization model works and connections between asset optimization and allocation processes

• Understand various client needs to support portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions, including investment guidelines constraints, risk tolerance, accounting considerations, and liquidity situations

• Assist the team with additional ad hoc projects, including investment-related reports and presentations for senior team members and senior management

• Participate in team and departmental projects and process improvement initiatives

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Math, Engineering, or any quantitative field from a top-tier university

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in fixed income industry

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills a must; Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

• Ability to take initiative on tasks and responsibilities; Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity of VBA and SQL is a plus

• CFA certification is a plus; Exposure to any trade order management system is a plus
