About this role

Fundamental Equities is a key division at BlackRock with over US$250bn of assets under management, across 90+ strategies and over 200+ investment professionals. The Fundamental Equities team uses traditional analytics, ESG metrics and engagements to pick stocks and assemble diversified portfolios. The FE Mexico team has more than US$650 M in local equities +US$75 M in alternatives (Real State and listed Private Equity) of asset under management, focusing in long-only local equity strategies across different products and mandates.

What will you be doing?
  • Conduct ~25 company research - including financial analysis, due diligence on industry trends, company management and strategies.
  • Develop operating, financial and valuation models.
  • Meet with listed company's management teams to build stronger understanding of underlying industry, competitive dynamics, business drivers, and strategic direction. Generate ESG engagements to contribute to BlackRock sustainability and climate objectives.
  • Communicate and issue written investment ideas to Portfolio Managers throughout the firm and build relationships with other teams supporting the investment and research process.
  • Generate Investment ideas that contribute alpha to our client portfolios.
  • Support and drive the evolution of the investment platform and leverage the power of Aladdin.
  • Participate and contribute to internal / client meetings and events.
  • Develop new methodologies, tools and products for the investment decision process.
  • Fulfill its fiduciary duty to safeguard the quality of the assets of our customers as well as the franchise prestige and reputation.


What are you looking for?
  • 5y minimum experience in analysis of financial statements, development of operating and financial models, market analysis and sectorial analysis. Understanding of financial markets, investment theories and asset valuations
  • Quantitative, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong self-learning skills and comfortable with autonomy - inquisitive, detail-oriented, self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate large amounts of information in brief manner.
  • Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team orientation, which will enable her/him to command the confidence, loyalty, and respect of colleagues and external constituents.
  • Successful experience working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Advance in Excel (VBA preferred); Tableau and Programming (Python) skills are desirable.
  • CFA would be regarded favorably.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish.
