Position Description:

We are seeking a CLO Compliance Sr. Associate/Specialist to join our Alternative Operations team. Our global team supports PIMCO's Alternatives business, which includes complex hedge funds and private equity vehicles.

The role may be based in New York, NY, or Austin, TX. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Coverage and oversight of PIMCO managed CLO business throughout its life stages (entity formation, warehouse, closing/securitization phase, effective date, and through to post-reinvestment phase)
  • Work closely with and act as a liaison between PM's, Operations, Legal, Product Strategy/Marketing, Compliance, Accounting, Internal/External Technology teams, and Tax on CLO-related inquiries
  • Daily interactions and oversight of outsourced settlement providers/shadow compliance agent/trustees
  • Review and sign off on models created by shadow compliance agent/trustee per indenture
  • Assist PMs in running hypothetical trading analysis, daily KPI metrics, and support ad hoc requests to resolve which assets can fit into CLO, depending on size, concentration limits, etc., and ensure allocations are adjusted accordingly
  • Review and translate indenture concepts, language, and tests to PM/Accounting/Marketing/Internal Counsel stakeholders to help optimize portfolios.
  • Coordinate and oversee warehouse facilities and CLO deal closings, including working closely with PM's, underwriters, placement agents, rating agencies, issuer, etc., leading up to closing date
  • Provide oversight of daily asset, position, cash reconciliations, ongoing attribute recs with middle office, shadow compliance agent, and trustee
  • Ensure proper settlement of trades and monitor trade date and settle date cash buckets
  • Review monthly/quarterly reporting of trustees
  • Attend due diligence meetings, industry conferences, and weekly Leverage Loan Desk calls for marketing & optimizing CLO business at PIMCO


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-8 years of well-rounded CLO Industry space, including deal closings, compliance, trustee reporting, deal document review, and fund accounting:
    • Managing the hypothetical trading process
    • Building or reviewing outsourced providers models for eligibility criteria and concentration limit tests
    • Reviewing and interpreting Ratings Waterfall language derivations, asset level attributes and their impact on CLO tests
    • Managing CLO warehouse portfolio ramp-up
  • CLO securitization-from warehouse to pricing to closing to the effective date, including experience with CLO Reset/Refinance/Post Reinvestment events
  • Demonstrated knowledge of syndicated bank loans market, risk retention compliance, CLO indentures, and credit agreement experience
  • Prior use of CLO Compliance systems: Wall Street Office Suite, Black Mountain (AllVue), Sentry, Solvas (CDOSuite)
  • Consistent track record managing CLO compliance, operations, deal level review, and managing outsourced providers
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg essential
  • Understanding of SQL and database query tools desirable
