The Team: The US/Canada Corporate Ratings Practice has an opportunity for a new Sector Lead role which will encompass the investor interest area of Autos (including Commercial Vehicles) as well as the rapidly growing Business and IT Services coverage.
The role will encompass the analytical leadership and market engagement in both sectors. The teams work across practices globally.

The Impact: As an analytical leader, you will play an active part in raising the external profile of the Autos and Business & IT services teams. You will among other things drive the research and outreach in this space.

The position is for a senior analytical leader in the Autos and Business & IT Services. The key aspects of the role are:
  • Strong analytical leadership across a broad range of credits and areas
  • Ability to work productively across two teams and Analytical Managers
  • Demonstrate the appropriate leadership behaviours that other team members can emulate
  • Ability to author insightful research commentaries
  • Demonstrated market engagement skills
Responsibilities:
  • Provide "portfolio-like" coverage and commentary of rating issues and trends in Autos and Business & IT Services within the U.S./Canada Corporate Ratings practice
  • Develop market engagement plans including conferences to further our analytical impact
  • Work collaboratively with other sector analysts and practices on analytical issues and author thought leadership on relevant sector and credit themes.
  • Develop ideas for research and commentaries by reviewing large data sets to identify trends and patterns
  • Work with relevant AMs to address analytical issues
  • Participate in high profile new issuer meetings and tier 1 management meetings
  • Keep open dialogue with key market participants
  • Collaborate across S&P Global on research, training, insights and methodology
  • Represent S&P Global Ratings in conferences, council meetings and industry events
  • Provide expertise for emerging initiatives like Research Labs
  • Provide leadership in Global Industry Focus Team initiatives
  • Provide leadership on ESG related analytical topics
What We're Looking For:
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Strong desire to build out our research and outreach capabilities in these sectors
  • Excellent client and market knowledge as well as ability to contribute to the continued development of the S&P Global Ratings franchise
  • Have demonstrated strong communication skills that will be necessary to build-on and manage relationships with key local clients and influencers, and develop new relationships as part of market outreach activities
  • Ability to develop and drive efforts in ESG
  • Ability to work with large data sets that will form the basis of analytics and reports
  • Demonstrated strength of understanding of S&P Global Ratings analytical methodologies
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and multitask
  • Strong team player - the ability to think locally and work globally in a collaborative and multicultural work environment is critical
  • Ability to think independently and critically, and have an eye for innovation opportunities
  • Keen ability to coach and mentor others in a complex fasting moving environment
Basic Qualifications: Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field, and/or CFA. 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a solid analytical background.

Compensation/Benefits Information:
  • S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $163,000 to $307,800. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
