(Permanent Full-Time Position)

As a valuable member of the investments team, the mission for the Senior Investment Analyst – Risk role is to support risk allocation, monitoring and management, and to contribute to the evolution of the investment risk management framework. Reporting to the Director of Investment Strategy & Risk, this position is responsible for researching portfolio risk concepts, analysing, interpreting, and reporting on a range of portfolio risk exposures using third-party investment risk system(s), and providing expert advice on the interpretation and communication of portfolio risk to support well informed decision making by the investments team and the Board.

Qualified candidates possess an undergraduate or advanced degree in finance, statistics, math, or other related discipline with seven or more years of relevant experience in investment risk management with a pension plan, asset management firm or investment consulting firm. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Successful candidates will have or are working towards a professional designation such as PRM, FRM, or CFA and will have good knowledge of financial instruments, capital markets, and portfolio management concepts and a detailed understanding of risk measures. Experience with third-party risk management systems such as Aladdin Risk or BarraOne is an asset.

To succeed in this position, you have excellent demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong problem identification and resolution abilities with willingness to escalate issues appropriately; and can analyse financial market data using programs such as Excel. You exercise a high degree of initiative and sound judgment; can work with a considerable amount of independence and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation and with external service providers. You will be proficient in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Salary Range: $97,939 to $122,424 (based on qualifications and skills)
