About the business:

The Aladdin Business is growing rapidly, with the volume and complexity of new client deals and strategic partnerships growing each year. We are at the next phase of our growth and are evolving into a platform focused business with multiple new product launches and external partnerships. As part of this, we recently launched Aladdin Sustainability, delivering environmental, social and governance (ESG) analytics along with climate risk to institutional and retail investors. A successful candidate will join in our efforts to craft the offering and help sophisticated investors incorporate sustainability analytics into their investment processes.

Your team:

The Aladdin Implementation Team leads the installation and deployment of Aladdin and related products and services, globally. Aladdin Implementations are high profile initiatives that require team members to have senior level exposure and play an active role in redefinition of investment organizations. A typical implementation is at least as much about processes and implementing change as it is about investments & technology. We help clients achieve ambitious strategic objectives, which range from unifying their investment analytics & risk reporting framework to modernizing their overall investment process.

Your role:

We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated VP who is passionate about sustainability to help build a brand-new practice that is dedicated to deploying Aladdin Sustainability. This includes the deployment of sustainability and portfolio risk analytics delivered via Aladdin Climate and integrated across Aladdin tools and workflows. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in sustainability to shape a new product offering and ensure we have the technical components necessary to deliver! This role combines aspects of project management, product management, client relationship management, technical execution and portfolio risk analytics expertise. They are responsible for the success of client implementations, including effectively handling project teams, tracking against the plan, identifying technical dependencies, mitigating risks, and keeping partners informed. This candidate will also collaborate with several teams across the firm including BlackRock Sustainable Investing to ensure an outstanding client experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Aladdin Sustainability implementations at external clients
• Coordinate and assist in Aladdin Sustainability configuration, testing, and user training
• Identify technology and process improvements to make the implementation approach more efficient with each new implementation
• Develop a positive relationship with clients to support implementation and adoption. Collaborate with the Client's senior management and key user groups (e.g. Chief Investment Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Head Portfolio Managers, Chief Technology Officer, Risk & Compliance Teams, etc.)
• Shape the evolution of Aladdin Sustainability by developing a deep understanding of client and industry needs and conveying client requirements and feedback to the product team
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of Aladdin functionality and workflows, as well as industry-specific expertise (e.g., pensions, insurers, asset managers)
• Participate in sales activities by assisting in demonstrations and implementation pre-planning activities as a subject matter authority
• Ensure a smooth transition from implementation to ongoing client support teams

Qualifications:

• 7 to 10 years of work experience in the financial industry, preferably for a buy-side technology provider or as a portfolio risk provider/practitioner
• Solid project management and coordination skills with strong problem solving/analytical thinking
• Well organized with the ability to manage several priorities with a hands-on approach
• Strong knowledge of portfolio risk management and portfolio construction. Understanding of capital markets instruments (equities, fixed income, private markets, derivatives)
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Conveys sophisticated concepts simply and clearly. Capable of connecting with multiple audiences and building consensus
• Experience with platform integrations (interfaces, API's)
• Strong attention to detail; willing to take proactive action, and desire to roll up sleeves
• Technologically "aware" to be conversant with clients and product engineers
• Leads individuals and cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and get results. Is a positive force for change
• Willing to travel periodically, which may include international opportunities

Nice if you have:

• Familiarity with sustainability analytics, including ESG metrics and climate risk (physical and transition), and related regulatory reporting and user personas/workflows
• Experience with SQL
• MBA, CFA, or FRM
