About The Role
Role Location: Melbourne or Sydney
Role Type: Permanent, Full time
You will lead and manage a highly qualified investment strategy team through role-modelling and driving a values-led, accountable culture across your business.
You will be responsible for the end to end management of the ANZ Private Banking and Advice (PB&A) discretionary portfolios and investment communication. The role will work closely with the boarder ANZ PB&A's Chief Investment Office team and external consultants to provide oversight on the construction and management of portfolios aligned to the investment objectives of each portfolio. In addition to this, the Head of Investment Strategy is expected to work closely with frontline to help build and support the growth of the business within PB&A's Chief Investment Office's distribution network by delivering investment content, insights and updates both face to face and in writing.
Your key priorities and responsibilities include:
  • Drive growth in Funds Under Management (FUM) by contributing client presentations to retain and drive new business acquisition mandated clients.
  • Manage Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) and House View decisions to ensure optimal portfolios are delivered.
  • Manage frameworks for the monthly investment strategy meetings taking all relevant inputs and ensuring the required outputs and messages are delivered.
  • Contribution to the overall leadership and culture of the Investment Office.
  • Ensure compliance with all asset allocation mandate provisions and relevant laws & regulations.
  • Identification and avoidance of significant business and financial risk
About You
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
  • Extensive and proven portfolio management experience and track record relevant to "manage-the-manager" investment; portfolio construction and review
  • Finance or Economics Degree, with industry relevant post graduate qualification, Masters or CFA preferred
  • Solid academic background in financial theories, principles, and concepts commonly used in investments.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Resilient, fast paced with a strong growth mindset
  • Ability to build productive relationships with team members and clients
  • Ability to identify, monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies, agreeing appropriate risk responses
