Managing Director (Part Time)
Family Office
We are a well-established single-family office that is co-located with additional family offices at Willow Road near the Edens Expressway in Northfield. Our offer will be a Fortune 500 style package including salary, bonus, retirement and medical combined with the flexibility of a small environment. We are looking for a PART TIME professional.
Our objectives are to:
- Protect our assets
- Grow our assets on a risk adjusted, after tax, after fee basis
- Continue transfer of assets between generations in a tax efficient manner, while training the next generation to be educated investors
All of this must be done subject to liquidity, risk, family values and lifestyle constraints. In order to reach our objectives, we must set our goals, strategies, structures and processes
Responsibilities
- Analyzing, selecting, measuring and monitoring active investments, primarily in start-ups
- Analyzing, selecting, measuring and monitoring passive investments including
- Marketable securities
- Alternative investments
- Analyzing, selecting, measuring and monitoring the overall asset allocation
- Development and maintenance of an investment policy that is made independent of all investments and used as a model to evaluate potential opportunities
- Tax planning across all investments in conjunction with our outside accounting firm
- Comfortable reviewing legal documents with counsel
- Manage relationships with outsourced consulting, custodial and technology suppliers
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the performance of investments, including attribution analysis
- Participate in the continuing development of estate planning documents
- Develop and implement, with others, training programs for G2
Requirements
- Ten plus years of noteworthy financial responsibility
- CFA Charterholder a plus
- Significant knowledge of financial investments including marketable securities and alternative investments
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfortable working in a consensus-based, lightly supervised, self-directed environment
- Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must be comfortable with peaks and valleys in workload and be detail oriented
- Must be available to travel, up to three or four times per year to meet with money managers, post-Covid
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a lightly supervised environment
- Comfortable communicating via Zoom
- Subject to background and credit check
- Willing to sign a non-disclosure, non-solicit agreement
- A strong desire to work part-time
