- The role has a broad remit and involves working with a wide range of teams within the organisation, including the client services team, legal and compliance, and senior members of the investment teams across London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Paris. Over time the candidate will be expected to have a good understanding of different investing entity structures and the documentation associated with each.
- Preparation of the firm's management agreement and associated account opening documentation
- Reviewing different client account structures and reviewing Know Your Client (KYC) documentation.
- Ensuring Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime requirements regulations are adhered to
- Performing key controls such as PEP and Sanctions screening, vetting the positive and false positive alerts and recording the information in the relevant system for on-going monitoring. e. Internal account set up and logging of client information
- Third party account set-up (e.g., custodian, brokerage)
- Maintaining and logging all documentation - electronic and physical copies
- Work with the manager responsible for account onboardings on the implementation of initiatives to increase operational efficiency. This may include setting up accounts with new third-party providers or amending the operational set-up.
- Monitor KYC documentation and when documentation refreshes are required. This involves working closely with and providing guidance to the wider client services team.
Background & Experience
- The ideal candidate will have had 1 to 3 years' experience working in the on-boarding team of a private bank, wealth manager or asset manager, and already have some understanding of complex account structures
- Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering, Financial Crime and JMLSG regulations and standards would be advantageous
- Have an excellent academic record, having graduated from a reputable university, as well as strong A Levels (Maths/Economics is preferred but not essential). At a minimum hold the CFA Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management (IMC).
- An articulate self-starter with excellent organisation and communication skills.
- An ability to prioritise daily workloads whilst working efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Strong numerical and system skills with a particular focus on Excel
- Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism
