Position Description:

PIMCO is seeking a candidate with experience at an alternatives investment manager to activate audience-specific client engagement platforms and marketing programs for the firm’s Alternatives business. In this key role, as part of the Strategic Initiatives Client Marketing team and in partnership with the broader Marketing team, this individual will lead the development of marketing programs and campaigns that drive leads, revenue, retention, and growth for US GWM and CM Americas (including US Institutions, Latin America, and Canada) businesses.

This role is based in Austin, TX, or Newport Beach, CA.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop targeted marketing strategies that pair customized marketing mixes with audience-specific messages in order to provide the right message to the right client at the right time, in the right context
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to execute on client-facing marketing efforts that require an integrated strategy across sales and marketing resources (i.e. strategy, digital, events, product, advertising, design, etc.) in support of US GWM and CM Americas Alternatives business growth goals
  • Collaborate with Alts business leaders, Sales, Product Strategy, and Product Marketing to architect data-driven marketing activities to reach and resonate with target audiences
  • Manage a campaign pipeline, with project prioritization to be continuously refined in response to real-time market conditions, events, and business needs
  • Set specific and measurable marketing goals that align with the overall direction and business goals, report on relevant performance metrics, and make actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Generate innovative ideas to promote our Alternatives brand and develop business cases to support new marketing strategies, budget requests, projects, and marketing plans


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required; CAIA, CFA or MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in financial services marketing, at a top Alternative Investment management firm
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Alternative Investments, including an in-depth knowledge of the investment needs, concerns, and decision-making process of Alternatives investors
  • Outstanding project management and prioritization skills, with experience leading strategic and tactical marketing initiatives
  • Proactive self-starter, including a demonstrated ability to think outside the box
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills
  • Experience with project management software (e.g. Smartsheets), content management systems (e.g. Seismic), and Agile marketing is a plus
  • Ability to think critically, deal with ambiguity, and solve sophisticated problems
