About the Role
Sales Engineering is rapidly expanding our Developer Advocacy + Data Architecture (DA2) practice due to strong demands from clients to help drive forward their Digital Transformation initiatives. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic DA2 leader who is capable of defining a roadmap for FactSet's DA2 capabilities for the global buy-side and sell-side client base. Primary responsibilities will be to rapidly mature FactSet's DA2 practice including client engagement models & SOPs, establish internal & external trainings/webinars/Hackathon programs, and build a pipeline of talent to build out the team's capabilities.

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience leading a Developer Advocacy / Technology Evangelism team at an established technology firm, or many years as a Lead/Senior Developer Advocate. Our ideal candidate can balance management responsibilities, team development, client engagements while also working with Sales, Professional Services, Implementation and Support to cultivate and drive specific sales opportunities. We are looking for a candidate who is entrepreneurial, who is process driven, who can build relationships with business & technology buyers, and who can talk about "enterprise" without losing focus on a client's immediate needs.

Responsibilities
  • Build out Factset's DA2 team (as described above) with a focus on four major functional areas:
    • Develop our client-facing program / practice
    • Develop our program around internal & external trainings/webinars/Hackathons
    • Scope, hire and develop an appropriately-sized team of Developer Advocates + Data Architects to solution FactSet's increasingly digital sales pipeline
    • Provide support to FactSet's Recipes and Solutions Blueprints initiatives in partnership with other leaders within Sales Engineering, Product Strategy and other teams
  • Partner with Strategic Sales Engineers as well as FactSet's team of 1,500 Global Sales and Client Service professionals to build & execute on a pipeline of large revenue, high-impact enterprise deals, with a particular focus on opportunities requiring expertise in application development and complex data architectures
  • Present at client & industry events to position FactSet as a thought & technology leader in our field, representing FactSet at the C-Suite and Director level with our clients
  • Build individual relationships with regional sales managers and individual salespeople to help drive FactSet's sales pipeline
  • Be the domain expert for data architecture / platform integration / orchestration with key cloud partners such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP to deliver turn-key designs, patterns and blueprints for the financial industry

Requirements
  • 8+ years of industry experience as a Developer Advocate / Sales Engineer / Technology Evangelist (or similar) at an established technology firm
  • 2+ years leading an established Developer Advocacy / Sales Engineering / Technology Evangelism (or similar) team
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems (or similar), or extensive hands-on experience as a developer/technologist
  • Experience establishing the foundational elements within a Sales organization to make the mission of Developer Advocacy a success
  • Experience developing training programs (internal / external)
  • Experience hiring, cultivating talent and developing a high performing team
  • Experience with at least one major programming language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, etc.) and a strong preference towards familiarity with HTML5/JavaScript and modern web technologies & frameworks
  • Familiarity with modern application development paradigms and technologies including agile, CI/CD, serverless, cloud-first as well as traditional monolithic development
  • Experience working closely with business and technology stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and embody an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities and skills.
  • Thirst for continued learning - about technology, our industry, our solutions, etc.
  • Ability to travel as required

Highly Desired
  • Previous experience in financial services industry
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • M.B.A. or Master's Degree in Finance / Economics or CFA / CIPM / FRM / CAIA
