About this role

Location: SF, ATL, or NYC

The VP of Scaled Distribution will be responsible for leading email automation through data-driven segmentation and personalized messaging designed to increase engagement with iShares U.S. institutional clients and prospects (asset owners and asset managers). In addition, this person will contribute to our data enrichment, lead generation, marketing optimization efforts, and overall scaled distribution strategy.

This individual will be tasked with partnering with global digital marketing, sales, product, and various client service teams to drive net-new business and represent the firm to the external market. The successful candidate will be an inspiring and motivating leader who will be empowered to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy around driving profitable growth within across each client segment.

Candidate needs to be strong critical thinker who is innovative and can effectively drive results within a matrix global organization as well as provide direction and clarity to both the business and broader platform. Candidate will report directly to BlackRock's Head of iShares U.S. Institutional Marketing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and execute a cohesive email automation and client segmentation plan with key focuses on deepening client engagement, lead generation, and data-driven optimization.
  • Use scaled messaging and targeted distribution to build loyalty, capture client preferences, and generate next-best action signals.
  • Create and maintain email welcome and nurture track programs designed to deepen client engagement.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform marketing strategy and digital marketing direction; partner closely with Global Marketing Foundational Analytics & Insights to define strategic measurement roadmap.
  • Collaborate with key senior stakeholders including business leaders across Global/Regional Marketing, Sales, Investments, Strategy, Product, and Markets Coverage.
  • Support the roll out of stakeholder-centric strategies to deliver iShares content to relevant targets through a multi-channel approach. Partner with content teams to form an editor calendar for all digital properties.
  • Partner with sales to drive new opportunities through Account-Based Marketing.
  • Create, maintain, and socialize an integrated distribution strategy, including commercial opportunity, segmentation & messaging, tactics, measurement, and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Proactively communicate client insights and key metrics for measuring impact of marketing tactics and messaging.
  • Partner with other global ETF marketing leaders to ensure campaign and reporting approach is consistent, standardized, and shared services/partners are not overloaded.
  • Foster a high-performance team culture that encourages autonomy, creativity, innovation, testing and learning, and quantifiable impact.


Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to successfully build engaging customer journeys through Eloqua, solicit qualified leads through multi-channel marketing touchpoints, target tailored client segments, and optimize every facet of the scaled distribution lifecycle.
  • 5+ years of relevant marketing experience required
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced, high-intensity environment. Strong execution skills and keen attention to detail are required.
  • Ideal candidates are data-driven marketers with a background in B2B marketing campaign planning, execution, and project management. Advanced Eloqua proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry and deep understanding financial services marketing.
  • Passion for data-driven marketing, digital media, content marketing, innovation and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to create and manage customer segmentation from complex and large data sets strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in scale distribution as well as creative marketing skills and experience in the development of campaign messaging and product implementation value propositions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead through influence.
  • Strong stakeholder management. Must be able to engage, influence, and gain credibility with a wide range of key stakeholders, including marketing leads, sales leads, product, strategy, investments, and markets coverage teams.
  • Superior problem-solving skills. Significant data analytics experience required. Proven expertise in data analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to develop custom automation solutions, streamline connections from third-party APIs to internal sources is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Marketo, Eloqua, Python, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, SQL Server, Advanced R preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63; advanced degree and/or CFA preferred.
