The Record-To-Report Global Process Owner Team (R2R GPO) is strategically based within the Controller's division of Finance. The Accounting Process work-stream within R2R GPO is responsible for designing and implementing global standard accounting processes and governance to ensure accurate, consistent and timely accounting of transactions into Citi's books and records. This role works with key stakeholders across Finance, Finance Risk Shared Services (FRSS) Global Finance Technology (GFT) and other disciplines to ensure appropriate alignment and accountability of activities supporting the closing processes. This position will also interface and engage with other key R2R GPO initiatives and work streams such the closing process and finance data standardization. Accounting is the key input to Citi's operating ledgers and this Senior Financial Solutions Lead Analyst position will also support defining Citi's operating ledger governance, as well as providing oversight of accounting and ledger processes where Full Suite is being operationalized.

Responsibilities:
  • Defining process and control requirements to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely accounting of transactions into Citi's books and records.
  • Working with FRSS to implement centralized and standardized accounting processes and controls in Shared Services.
  • Working with businesses, functions and regions to identify and prioritize accounting transformation opportunities and work-streams.
  • Partnering with Citi Accounting Policy to ensure Citi has a robust process to address new / changed accounting standards.
  • Working with Data Services and BSS to ensure that Accounting and GENESIS Contractual processes are aligned.
  • Partnering with IOM and Unified Architecture accounting work streams to develop requirements and prioritization of Citi's target state accounting models and processes.
  • Supporting the delivery of current Accounting Engine programs, and identify further near term automation opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage Accounting Engine and Full Suite to adopt multi-GAAP accounting where possible.
  • Preparing documentation such as policies, standards, procedural guides, and process maps.
  • Developing key metrics to measure adherence and effectiveness.


Qualifications:
  • Ability to deliver results and influence change effectively across geography, functional areas and levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and to work with geographically diverse resources.
  • Knowledge of Citi Finance architecture and systems impacting Citi's Financial Books & Records.
  • In depth, knowledge of Citi's accounting processes, and understanding of the Controller, FRSS functions.
  • Strong accounting skills and an understanding of accounting policy in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, across organizational levels, functions and regions.
  • Strong analytical skills, acting as an expert or advisor on Accounting matters
  • Experience with process reengineering / process improvement, design and implementation of accounting and closing processes.
  • Ability to influence senior Finance, Business and Operations stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in absence of detailed instructions.
  • Individual should be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong background in one or more areas of finance preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of Citi's businesses and products.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field in the Financial Services industry is required.
  • Process reengineering and change management with program/project management or PMO experience in using a structured methodology to successfully track, plan, monitor and report on concurrent, multiple projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.


Education:
  • Bachelors' degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CA, CPA, ACA, or CFA certifications a plus.
