Job Title: Asset Quality Review (AQR) Officer

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

Overview

In conducting reviews, you will assess the credit ratings assigned by responsible credit officers. The reviews also include an evaluation of consistent application of rating systems, portfolio quality, credit standards and quality of risk management. Reports are directed to both the global Group Risk Committee as well as the U.S.-based Management Risk Council as well as key stakeholders in Senior Management.

This position is within the U.S. team with a focus on Deutsche Bank's US operations including the following portfolios: Leveraged and Structured Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Wealth Management, Securitization, Hedge Funds, Corporates and Financial Institutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in numerous AQR reviews assessing professional credit exposures within a portfolio
  • Focus will be on the assessment of professional credit exposures and the corresponding internal risk ratings and regulatory classification (if applicable), as well as credit process elements
  • As a team member, you will be expected to assist the Reviewer-In-Charge with preparing final reports to Senior Management
  • Participation in Credit Risk Management's (CRM) watch-list/portfolio meetings and challenge/review portfolio analyses or conduct own portfolio analyses
  • Share any technical credit knowledge and skills that you may possess to other team members for the purpose of cross-training exercises
  • Opportunities to participate in other AQR Offices' reviews thus potentially covering other business areas and/or in projects


Your Skills and Experience:
  • Graduate, at least undergraduate degree in a business related field. MBA or CPA or CFA a plus
  • Sound credit background with some financial services work experience in the areas of credit extension, underwriting, review or analysis from the banking industry, rating agencies, regulatory entities or public accounting firms or some combination thereof
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk analysis (including assessment of complex customer groups, structures and products), rating approaches and related processes, and sound analytical skills
  • Computer proficiency and statistical skills; knowledge of data base applications with an affinity to working with data/system related topics
  • Must be comfortable discussing findings and making recommendations with the appropriate balance of tact and professional assertion
