Business Unit Overview

As the US retail arm of BlackRock, US Wealth Advisory ("USWA") is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with wealth management firms and platforms, distributing BlackRock's alpha-seeking and iShares investment capabilities and driving the adoption of BlackRock's portfolio construction and digital wealth technologies by financial advisors. The USWA Request for Proposal ("RFP") team plays a vital role in the sales and retention process for mutual fund, sub-advisory, collective trust products and separately managed accounts/models. The Team partners closely with colleagues across sales groups, portfolio management teams, and numerous subject matter experts to deliver high quality, consistent, and cohesive quantitative and qualitative information to prospective and existing clients.

About the Gig

We are seeking a motivated professional to join the USWA RFP team. This role will support the US retail product ranges and work in close collaboration with internal partners.

You will be part of a team responsible for providing responses to and coordinating Due Diligence Questionnaires, and new business RFPs for US retail products including mutual funds, separately managed accounts ("SMAs"), models, and '40 Act sub-advised funds. You will work closely with investment teams, sales teams, Legal & Compliance, Business Operations, and other subject matter experts within the US.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for exposure to different areas of the business and to gain a wealth of knowledge about the workings of BlackRock, its position in the market and the products we manage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage/coordinate the completion of high-quality responses for new business RFPs and DDQs.
  • Own a variety of client inquiries and drive them through to resolution, ensuring they are handled with due care and responded to appropriately, within agreed timeframes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for relationship managers, sales teams, and sales support teams who receive RFPs and DDQs from their prospects/clients.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of team processes and drive innovative use of resources.
  • Take ownership for contributing to the maintenance and audit of core content.


Skills and Experience
  • 7-10 years asset management experience in a similar role or function
  • Experience writing RFPs and DDQs for US mutual funds, SMAs and models ('40 Act sub-advisory and Collective Trust Funds experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of RFP software (ie. Qvidian or similar) preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • CFA / FRM certification will be an added advantage
  • Possesses strong project management, organizational and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a multifaceted and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive team-player who understands that a highly organized team can drive better performance
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with partners and colleagues at all levels
  • Drive and determination, with an ability to learn and innovate
