The Relationship Manager will be responsible for ensuring that assigned clients are completely satisfied with State Street's services. Responsibilities include generating new business (including cross-selling services), maintaining extensive client contact including establishing relationships with client senior level management, consulting with client and internal groups on new products, services, and industry insights, providing project leadership for fund/product start-up/conversions, and ensuring all service areas within the company deliver the best possible service in the industry.

What you will be responsible for
As Relationship Manager you will
  • Responsible for the management of client accounts ranging from small to complex
  • Responsible for strategic day to day management and the maintenance of successful long term relationships of assigned accounts
  • Ensures superior client satisfaction by acting as an advocate for clients and ensuring client issues are resolved. Proactive identification of client needs, and potential internal issues impacting client satisfaction
  • Establishes senior level relationships with assigned clients. Keeps senior management informed of new developments, service issues, and new business opportunities
  • Responsible for client retention and revenue expansion through existing services and cross sell. Creates barriers to exit through providing strategic value-added services
  • Works with Sector Sales to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Represents the firm at industry events
  • Develops fee strategies and presents fee proposals for sign-off. Negotiates fees and contracts with clients, and ensures fee schedules are properly implemented
  • Acts as a liaison between client and business units to ensure successful implementation. Manages internal and client expectations
  • During the course of normal day to day operation, be responsible for identifying any unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and must report and/or escalate in accordance with corporate policy and guidelines detailed in relevant operating procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
What we value

  • At least 8 years of related experience, preferably in US Asset Owner industry
  • Superior skill levels in relationship management, along with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Must possess strong leadership and management skills
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree required. MBA, CFA desirable
Additional requirements
  • Knowledge of computer systems, financial operations and/or investment and related industries a plus
  • Ability to travel
