Description
General
- Coordinate with the leadership team in each of the jurisdictions to support the reporting activities and preparation of presentation or any marketing material required to support the business;
- Perform investment analysis tasks assisting and reporting to an Investment Director/Manager; and
- Perform a variety of investment analysis work including modelling, research, investment paper writing, monitoring of investments and assisting in writing quarterly reports.
Investment Analysis
- Build the financial model based on technology, project and/ or jurisdiction, as may be required from time to time to support the investment activities and growth of the business;
- Prepare the relevant investment thesis, notes, papers, presentations, updates and reports for the business
activities including submission to management;
- Undertake research and write country research notes and assist with writing technology research notes as and when required;
- Support the necessary project-related activities across business and ensure that the requirements of each project are met timely and diligently;
- Closely monitor the performance of investments, liaise with personnel and employees and ensure timely and accurate reporting of information relating to the investments;
- Assist in maintaining relationships with local stakeholders, partners and suppliers;
- Assist in negotiating with lenders, developers and project partners key commercial terms and shareholder agreements and manage such relationships;
- Assist in negotiating project documents: PPA, IA, finance agreements, etc.;
- Manage the task budgets and investment spending in line with board approval;
- Support the investment relations team in interactions with fund investors during fundraising and through the
investment cycle; and
- Assist in preparation of eventual exit and, as may be appropriate, manage or participate in exit transaction.
Due Diligence
- Undertake research on specific target markets and issues related to the projects;
- Cooperate with the finance function on all relevant aspects e.g. tax, accounting, etc. as well as efficient and timely management of equity drawdowns;
- Conduct due diligence activities in cooperation with other functions, in order to analyze all relevant aspects of the project / portfolio and advise senior management and board on any investment opportunities;
- Cooperate with engineering function on the feasibility studies, EPC, O&M, power evacuation and insurance
arrangements;
- Cooperate with legal function to ensure that the project agreements and other relevant legal documents are
appropriately structured and managed and that the relevant KYC and AML requirements are met; and cooperate with the E&S function to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the requirements, its investors and lenders.
Reporting
- Meet internal reporting and management requirements, using appropriate in-house systems where necessary.
- Attend progress meetings, internal meetings and investor meetings, as required.
- Provide briefings and project updates on a regular basis or as required;
- Produce reports, models and other documentation for your manager(s).
- Assist with and help deliver reporting requirements and its investors.
Profile
- Highly analytical, organised and pragmatic professional with attention to details.
- Keen interest in renewable energy and investment.
- Experience working in corporate finance (Mergers & Acquisitions, and Transactions), investment banking or project finance, with exposure to renewable energy or infrastructure considered beneficial.
- Excellent MS-Excel and financial modelling skills are required and advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written English and ability to write documents to a publishable standard.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Willingness to travel and visit project sites across Asia.
- Relevant post-graduate Master's Degree (preferably in Finance or Investment Analysis);
- Preference for CFA Charter holder or CFA Candidate.
