Position Description:

PIMCO is seeking a high performing, multifaceted, and ambitious individual for a Marketing Manager role within our Global Marketing Organization. If you are passionate about improving client-facing marketing opportunities and leading the development of highly effective integrated campaigns, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will develop valuable messages and materials in support of our products and strategies, with a specific focus on existing channels and new opportunities in Retirement. In this highly collaborative, cross-functional role, you will report to our Head of Defined Contribution Marketing, and will be based in Newport Beach, California.

As a Marketing Manager, you will partner with colleagues in Retirement Marketing and our Retirement Business to identify critical business drivers, objectives of the various distribution channels (institutional and retail), and goals for diverse client audiences. You will build strategic marketing plans, coordinate, prioritize, and execute deliverables against aligned plans. You will also use your interpersonal skills and be our communications "hub," connecting the needs of the channels with marketing resources. Ideally, you will bring functional marketing expertise, a consistent track record in developing integrated campaigns, and experience partnering with a business function.

This role will be based in Newport Beach, CA. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as our client and subject matter authority to help shape the direction and scope of PIMCO's broader U.S. marketing efforts
  • Develop strategic marketing plans; lead and prioritize deliverables and calendar of events, as specified in the plans
  • Improve PIMCO's visibility as a leader in Defined Contribution and Retirement (internally and externally), using paid media, digital, and social tools
  • Provide lead management capabilities, identifying existing client and prospects, and encouraging leads through digital journey frameworks
  • Lead one associate with the responsibility of project management, distribution and periodic updates of new and existing content
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with colleagues across sales teams and business management
  • Manage reporting, deliver actionable recommendations based on findings, and provide frequent updates to senior Retirement Marketing and Retirement Business leadership
  • Use data, analytics, and marketing technology to improve the efficacy of our messaging and client-targeting capabilities
  • Employ a digital-first marketing approach through personalized user experiences throughout the sales cycle
  • Measure KPIs and return on investment at the campaign, channel, and aggregate-marketing levels to quantify successes and qualify takeaways


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial services marketing, with specific experience in DC and Retirement marketing, the competitive landscape, industry events, and media outlets
  • Prior people management experience required
  • Leadership and social skills at all organizational levels, strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and lead dynamic initiatives
  • Strategic thinker, independent problem-solving skills, and ability to drive consensus
  • Demonstrated experience making creative contributions that influence campaigns and applying analytical skills to measure success and inform future initiatives
  • Strong project management skills; ability to lead multiple projects optimally
