Position Description:

Portfolio Associate Team Overview
Portfolio Associate team members help to oversee the portfolios on a day to day basis and liaise directly with Portfolio Managers and build relationships internally with Account Managers, Product Managers, Legal and Compliance counterparts, Operations teams, and other Portfolio Trade Associate teams across the firm's global offices. On a day-to-day basis, Portfolio Associates' primary functions will consist of monitoring risk exposures across portfolios, sizing trades to take risk measures to portfolio managers' desired target, and managing all other operational aspects of the portfolio. Portfolio Associates are routinely encouraged to provide creative solutions and develop key tools and reporting methods to support the Portfolio Management team.

Location: Newport Beach, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Key driver in process engineering and development to support the alternatives Portfolio Management team
  • Utilize proprietary risk systems for monitoring of portfolio exposures vs investment objectives across target portfolios
  • Coordinate with Cash Management and Alternatives Finance Group for active Cash and Liquidity requirements
  • Work with Risk Management and Product Specialist Groups on Attribution/Performance Metrics and analysis
  • Assist Portfolio Managers with allocations and trade processing as well as management of trade life cycle events across all products
  • Coordinate with functional teams across the firm for new asset setup, compliance monitoring, account setup and compliance coding, and areas for operational efficiency development
  • Respond to ongoing requests from the Portfolio Management team


Position Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong academic background in a technical field from a leading, accredited college or university
  • Understanding of Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Real Estate, Private Equity products
  • Outstanding communication skills are required to operate in a complex financial and mathematical environment
  • Strong analytical skills and process-oriented background with the ability to demonstrate keen operational awareness and able to problem-solve in a fast-paced and time-critical environment
  • Excel "power user" - SQL, VBA and programming skills are preferred
