What will your typical day look like?

You will assist with transaction execution and provide research and analytical support in accordance with the demands of various client engagements. You will develop and refine your skills in providing advice to a vast portfolio of clients - from private, national and international corporations to a range of industry sectors. You can also expect to:
  • Work with M&A specialists to originate and execute transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, recapitalisations, financing, business development, negotiations and equity capital raisings;
  • Build financial models to support transactions and deliver deal documentation, such as information memorandums and management presentations;
  • Manage end-to-end transactions by collaborating with your team and liaising directly with key stakeholders/ vendors/ bidders; and
  • Lead in the preparation of financial analysis, indicative valuation papers, DCF and LBO models to provide transaction-focused advice that directs clients' strategic direction

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

You will ideally be able to demonstrate:
  • 1-3 years' experience from an investment bank, in-house M&A team, M&A boutique environment or professional services firm
  • Strong writing and valuation/ financial modelling skills
  • A genuine interest in Corporate Finance / M&A (please make sure to highlight your motivations in your cover letter)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A strong drive for self-learning and personal development
  • Completed (or currently completing) a relevant post-graduate qualification, e.g. CA, CFA, or Masters of Applied Finance, etc.

Led by an experienced group of ex-Investment Banking professionals, our Melbourne M&A Advisory practice provides transaction-focused financial and strategic advice to corporations, private equity funds, public market companies and private clients with an emphasis on the resources and industrial sectors. We advise our clients on a wide range of corporate transactions including acquisitions, divestments, recapitalisations, financing, business development, negotiations and equity capital raisings.

Our national M&A Advisory practice is the #1 mid-market M&A lead advisory team in Australia and has completed over 100 successful transactions in the past 5 years.
