Reporting to the Director of Finance, this an exciting role that will work with financial forecasting, credit facility and capital structure monitoring, financial modelling of investment decisions and supporting the strategic planning and budgeting process. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a part of the Finance team, they will have a great opportunity to mentor and coach peers, brainstorm with them find solutions to issues, completing ad-hoc requests and will need to be flexible to complete a variety of tasks.

What does the role look like?

  • Maintain and enhance the financial forecast model, collaborating with accounting and operational teams to assess key drivers of the business and the anticipated impact on future financial results.
  • Assist in assessing a suitable capital structure according to the business needs and monitoring of lender covenant compliance.
  • Working closely with the Business Development team, assist in preparing financial analysis of transactions and internal projects, acquisition due diligence support and other ad hoc requests related to capital investments.
  • Assist in evaluating the financial performance of capital investments against established objectives.
  • Develop financial models and analyze financial information in support of long-range strategic planning.
  • Assist with the annual budget process, including preparation of the report to the Board.
  • Develop relationships with operations management, becoming a resource and advisor, in order to integrate financial aspects into decision making.
  • Prepare materials as part of the reporting cycle, including various Board reports, forecasting and capital structure updates and investor relations materials.
  • Cash forecasting, balance reporting and oversight of daily cash management functions.
  • Assist in assessing foreign exchange risk and managing exposure.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in business or finance is required; CPA, CFA, or CBV designation is required
    • With some work experience in a related or similar role
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and forecasting skills including financial statement analysis.
  • Great excel skills and interested in learning new technology
  • A history of organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects under tight deadlines.
  • Naturally curious, detail-oriented individual that takes great pride in delivering high-quality results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • A self-starter who is driven to take on a leadership role within project teams and enjoys supporting the team (even if a bit more work is involved!)
