We are a leading financial institution based in Portugal (headquarters in Lisbon) and we are looking to expand the Principal Finance Team the addiction of an investment professional with the following responsibilities:

  • Researching and credit analyzing investment / non-investment grade international leveraged loan and corporate bond offerings (primary and secondary), making recommendations and executing them
  • General industry coverage across different sectors
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio positions
  • Will work closely and support the Senior members of the team to evaluate, recommend, execute and handle Principal Finance opportunities
  • Will carry out financial analysis and due diligence as well as lead in deal execution, working closely with internal partners and external professionals.
  • Will also support as required to originate deal opportunities.
  • Over time will have the chance to handle structured lending financings ranging from leveraged finance, senior secured loans to subordinated or mezzanine loans across all sectors and client types (mostly financial sponsors)
  • Any ad hoc assignments

Requirements

  • Good university degree from an academic institution
  • MBA desired
  • Proficiency in English. Spanish and Portuguese preferably.
  • Excellent financial modelling skills and MS Applications.
  • 3 years (minimum) experience in leveraged/corporate/acquisition finance or equivalent at an investment commercial bank
  • Financial & Accounting skills
  • Legal knowledge of credit documentation
  • Alternative M&A, Transaction Services and/or Strategy Consulting backgrounds may also be considered
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and other financial and databases
  • Due Diligence experience
  • Dedicated problem solver, strong technical and analytical skills with a self-starter/positive personality and can-do attitude
  • Ability to explain and present factual information in a structured, clear, confident and concise way
  • Detail attention/focus
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally (ratings, credit, finance, legal, operations) and influence others in collaborative and positive manner
  • Ability to work independently under pressure without compromising quality
